Paula Azcona


Born in Pamplona 1992, she received her first cello lessons from Marta Tobes in the “Colegio de Enseñanzas Integradas de Música Vázquez de Mella”. After studying in the “Pablo Sarasate” Professional Conservatory based in Pamplona with Diego Arbizu, she continues her musical career with pedagogue Maria Casado in Madrid. She concludes her advanced performance studies in the Higher School of Music of the Basque Country (Musikene) with Asier Polo.

She has also received masterclasses from Aldo Mata, Angel Luis Quintana, María de Macedo, Gustav Rivinus, Laszlo Fenyo, Emil Rovner and Xabier Gagnepain.

She has collaborated with the following orchestras: “JOSS”, la Rioja Symphony Orchestra, Bilbao Symphony Orchestra and Basque National Symphony Orchestra.

Due to her interest in musical education, she enters the PEMI programme (which stands for Children Musical Education Programme), which belongs to Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra. She continues her studies in Barcelona following the “Certificado en Rítmica Dalcroze” in the Joan Llongueres Institute. She combines her teaching career in several Music schools with the performance in different groups such as Pamplona XXI chamber orchestra or the interdisciplinar group Poetika Kiribila.
